Since 1999, I have provided custom website design and professional web development services, specializing in educational websites, as well as search engine optimization, content management systems, and web site publishing for educational institutions, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Initially, my experience in website creation, development and publication was acquired while employed by the Chicago Public Schools as the Social Science Department Chairman at Percy L. Julian High School. I was asked to produce a website for the school as an extracurricular activity back in the day of 13" monitors and Windows 95, which was at the time a considerable undertaking . Fortunately, this challenge served as an excellent introduction to gain experience into website construction and publication.

In June of 2000, Percy L. Julian High School established a presence on the World Wide Web
with the launching of the school's official website on the Internet. Using a commerical hosting service, the publication of the school's website produced aneffective vehicle to increase interaction and communications. The pages and links provided the community, alumni, staff and students with current and continuous information about the school's policies, administration and staff, programs, sports, upcoming events and other school related activities. Thankfully, my endeavor proved to be a success, eventually resulting in the Percy L. Julian High School Website receiving an award for excellence.
To improve my knowledge and skills, I successfully completed the "CPS Technology Infusion Program." These Professional Development courses were offered by the Chicago Board of Education to instruct teachers in how to design new learning environments in which students use technology to create spreadsheets, presentations, and Web pages, and develop skills that will help them succeed in a digital world. The advanced sequence of the program was designed to produce techology skilled trainers to assist teachers in applying technology in the classroom . However, the final phase was never fully implemented due to budgetary constraints.

I continued to produce Julian's Website and instruct teachers in how to develop online Lesson Plans until the end of the 2003-2004 school year. Having reached my educational goals after 32 years with the Chicago Public Schools, I retired from teaching in May of 2005.

Fortunately, it was during this apprenticeship period that my familiarity and knowledge with website creation, development and publication began to be noticed. It wasn't long before I was contacted my friends and acquaintances who wished to use my experience to design and publish websites for their employers or for their own businesses (see: Sample Website Pages). This led to the start of a new avocational career in website production and various other internet projects, eventually resulting in the advent of gmj Info-Tech Services.
